Wakefield Council is yet to choose a developer to build a hotel on the city's former Westgate railway station, a meeting heard.

No developer but station-to-hotel plan still on track

The local authority bought the old station site in 2023 as part of a multi-million pound regeneration masterplan for the city. Councillors were told the selection process for a company to build a 110-bedroom "mid-range" hotel on the site was yet to be completed but could be announced this autumn.
