We speak to Ann Lightman at Lawnswood Cemetery.At Lawnswood Cemetery in Adel, Ann Lightman is doing what she's become known for over the past two decades - showing people the stories behind one of the city's most significant historic sites.

The historic grounds, with their grand Victorian chapels and sweeping avenues, weren't part of Ann's life plan. They weren't even on her radar. But in 2008, a simple request changed everything.

"I didn't know anything at all about Lawnswood Cemetery," she admits with a laugh. "A friend of mine, Kate Vernon, took photographs around it so she knew it pretty well.
