The Met Police confirmed to the YEP, shortly after Leeds's 1-0 FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea, that while 14 arrests were made for various offences, a further 16 Whites supporters could face prosecution for homophobic chanting.

The so-called 'rent boy' chant heard inside the ground was made a criminal offence and deemed a homophobic slur some years ago.

LGBTQ+ group Chelsea Pride issued a statement criticising what they believe was a lack of action from the Met Police before, during and after the game.

Their statement read: “Sixteen individuals do not represent the scale, volume, or visibility of the abuse witnessed across multiple locations over a sustained period of time.
