Drivers are counting down to a summer of disruption on the roads

Drivers in Leeds are being reminded that major roadworks will begin on a busy route in 10 days’ time.

For four weeks, starting on July 28, road repairs and resurfacing works will take place on Stanningley Bypass as part of the £44.179m Dawsons Corner-Stanningley Bypass improvement scheme.

Road users are now being urged to plan ahead as traffic management (contraflow) works begin later this month to make improvements to the A647/A6120 Dawsons Corner junction, with repairs and resurfacing works on the Stanningley Bypass.

The work has been planned to coincide with the reduced levels of traffic over the school summer holidays, but some significant disruption is expected to journeys over the coming weeks.
