A Leeds dad and disability advocate will share his family's experience to help educate others.

Father-of-two Sam Yates, 50, from Southway in Horsforth, will be speaking at Muscular Dystrophy UK's free annual Allied Healthcare Professionals Conference, this October, and is encouraging professionals to attend. In 2009, his eldest son, Alfie, 19, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting.
