Campaign based on fear, falsehoods and manipulation

Nigel Farage’s ‘Lawless Britain’ campaign is breathtakingly dishonest. Across the country, groups gather outside hotels housing asylum seekers, often intimidating them, claiming Britain is under siege from marauding gangs of young brown and black men.

They insist migrants are pampered in luxury hotels, given luxury perks and priority over British citizens. If these claims were true, protest would be justified. But they aren’t.

There's been no surge in rapes or violent crime linked to immigration since small boats began arriving. Overall violent crime is lower than in the 1990s, and the idea of immigrant gangs terrorising communities is a fantasy.

Hotel conditions are basic, not five-star. The “luxuries” are myths.
