A PROPERTY revamp to provide temporary homes in Tavistock had to be put on hold on ecology grounds due to a bat colony.
When work began on converting West Devon Borough Council's building of former offices at 20 Plymouth Road into three flats, workers stumbled across a colony of lesser horseshoe bats living beneath the floorboards.
