Doc Martin to take a trip across pond for US series

TV'S beloved series Doc Martin is set for a transformation across the pond, with Fox confirming plans for a US remake.

But it will not feature Dorset-based actor Martin Clunes, who played the irritable GP living and working in a fictional Cornish village for 10 series.

The American version, named Best Medicine, will see Josh Charles in the starring role.

Josh is set to portray a high-flying surgeon who dramatically leaves his position in Boston to return to general practice in the quaint East Coast fishing village of his childhood summers.

The show is expected to hit screens in the 2025/26 season, and anticipation is already brewing.

Social media buzzed with excitement after the announcement with one fan saying: "I'm addicted to the British version and looking forward to our US version."
