BRENDAN Wiredu has described the Plymouth Argyle players as 'a very close group' after the major transformation of the squad over the summer.
Wiredu was one of the many new arrivals, signing on a three-year contract from Fleetwood Town, and at the age of only 25 he is one of the older players in what is a largely young group.
Now playing in central defence after starting the season in midfield, Wiredu admitted he has found settling in at Argyle 'so much easier' given that he is part of a strong London presence in the squad.
Xavier Amaechi, Luca Ashby-Hammond, Malachi Boateng, Bradley Ibrahim and Matty Sorinola all come from the capital city, as does Wiredu, and there is a connection between them all as a result of that.
