Bronze Age jewellery hoard found

A METAL detectorist uncovered a Viking hoard of gold objects in the corner of a ploughed field of cauliflowers in Cornwall.

Metal detectorist Maurice Thomas discovered fourteen objects three inches below the surface between February and April 2020 in the Penwith area, a treasure inquest has heard. Assistant coroner for Cornwall Guy Davies said the objects, which included rings and bracelet fragments, were probably from the Viking period.
