LAY’S AUCTIONEERS, PENZANCE
-
LAYS Auctioneers has enjoyed an exciting couple of days with its Fine Art and Cornish Art Sale this week, but there are also three other sales online at the moment, both of which can be viewed at its Lanner Saleroom. The Art of Tea is a remarkable collection of silver caddy spoons put together by Dr Gillian M Orrell plus there’s a Watches Sale and a Fine Jewellery sale, which will be held just in time for Christmas on December 4.
Among the many gorgeous jewels in that sale, the star lot is arguably lot 180, an exceptional 9.40ct Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. It is a stunning ring, with the vivid, saturated blue cushion cut sapphire, set in platinum, surrounded by 10 round brilliant-cut diamonds, of a total estimated weight of 2.50ct. It comes with certification, and the quality of this exceptional ring is reflected in its £15,000-£20,000 estimate.
