Factory deal boost for marine sector jobs

PLYMOUTH City Council is talking to four more businesses in the marine autonomy sector about setting up in the city, following the announcement this week that German defence company Helsing is to build a drone submarine factory.
As part of a £350 million investment in the UK, Helsing will open its first resilience factory in Plymouth, creating high value jobs.
It will manufacture autonomous underwater gliders which are AI-powered systems designed for maritime surveillance and to help protect critical sub-sea infrastructure.
