Charity appeal to save 'sacred heart' site from nearby threats

UNIQUE prehistoric ritual site described as “Cornwall's ancient sacred heart” is deemed to be at risk.

Castilly Henge, located just off the A30 near Bodmin, is currently under threat due to invasive vegetation and is inaccessible to the public.

The charity Cornwall Heritage Trust is now hoping to raise £50,000 towards purchasing the scheduled monument, which is considered one of the South West's most important and best-researched late Neolithic sites. It is believed to have been built during the late Neolithic period (about 3000 to 2500 BCE).
