Wexham tipped to become Premier League powerhouses

WREXHAM have boldly been tipped to become a Premier League powerhouse after receiving a huge cash injection.

The Red Dragons announced on Monday that Apollo Sports Capital had acquired a minority stake in the Championship outfit.

Details of the deal have not been officially confirmed, but it’s believed the US investment firm has taken a share of just under ten per cent based on an overall club valuation of £350million.

Wrexham’s Hollywood co-owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, said the money would be used to fund the redevelopment of the Racecourse Ground and back their push to reach the top flight.

Former Wales and Cardiff striker Nathan Blake has now predicted that not only will the North Wales side achieve the latter goal, but will also eventually challenge for a top six position.

He described the investment as “music to the ears” of Wrexham fans, but lamented the fact the Bluebirds are not on the same trajectory.
