TRIBUTES have been paid to former South African centre Gregory ‘Green’ Vigo, who has died at the age of 75.

The cross-code star, who started his career in rugby union in South Africa before switching to rugby league in England, has been remembered as a “legend of the game” and “one of the best of his generation” following his death over the week end.
Vigo began his union career playing for the Saldanha Tigers before making his debut for the Proteas - the representative side of the South African Rugby Football Federation (SARFF) - in 1970.
