Tough start for the Drovers as they head to champions Newport

LLANDOVERY went to Pontypool to kickoff last season's Super Rygbi Cymru campaign and they will open up in Gwent once again when they face reigning champions Newport tonight (7.45pm).

It is a trip that shouldn't hold too many fears for the Drovers as they did the double over the Black & Ambers last season, winning 30-28 in a thriller at Newport Stadium. Head coach Euros Evans will be hoping for more of the same on opening night.

“We are all very excited to kickoff the second season of the SRC at the home of the champions and we know they will be there or thereabouts once again this season. They finished fourth in the league, yet won the title” said Evans.
