THE latest NHS statistics are a stark reminder of the challenges we face here in Wales.

With nearly 793,000 patients on waitinglists, the equivalent of one in four people in Wales and over 8,000 waiting more than two years for treatment, the situation is dire.

In contrast, England reports just 244 patients in the same category. These figures are not mere numbers; they represent real people, often having to endure unnecessary pain and suffering.

We, if given the chance next year, would restore our NHS to its rightful place as a beacon of excellence in patient care. Under 26 years of Labour governance, our health service has been mismanaged and left to deteriorate. The time for change is now.
