AT THE end of a long rural driveway, surrounded by a rolling rural landscape but close to a main road and with views of the picturesque Pembrokeshire countryside is a former farmhouse that has had more than just a standard 'glow-up' - it's been transformed into a home full of character but also oozing sophisticated luxury.

- JO RIDOUT

Treachred Farmhouse near Porthgain was listed Grade II by Cadw in 1991 but more recently has undergone an impressive renovation by local company master builders Carreg Construction. It is thought that parts of the original structure date back to the 18th century and the farmstead might even go as far back as Tudor times. Carreg Construction say that when the current owners purchased the property it was only partially renovated. Since then, as a team, they have 'lovingly transformed it into a truly exceptional residence'.

The core of the project was a clear commitment to preserving its character, and so many of the original features have been retained or carefully uncovered.
