Stopper Hennessey hangs up his gloves

WAYNE Hennessey has announced his retirement from professional football.
The goalkeeper first made his Wales bow against New Zealand in 2007, and would be capped 109 times by his country, becoming a key member of the Wales side that reached the semifinals of Euro 2016.
Hennessey was also part of the squad for the Euro 2020 campaign, and featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which was the country's first since 1958.
After making his professional debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2006, he would go on to join Crystal Palace in 2014, where he made 132 appearances in a seven-year stint.
