STAYING AT BLUEBIRDS IS THE BEST THING FOR LAWLOR, SAYS BOSS

BRIAN Barry-Murphy believes Cardiff City is the best place for Dylan Lawlor to progress his career amid fresh transfer reports linking Bayern Munich with interest in the defender.

The centre-back has been one of the standout emerging performers in this table-topping Bluebirds side and, as such, has attracted admirers from both the UK and abroad as we head into the January transfer window.
But the Wales international is a central cog in the wheel at Cardiff and the club will be desperate to stave off any interest in the new year to ensure their promotion bid has the best chance of staying on track.
“He loves playing for the club,’ he said when asked about Lawlor and the link with Bayern.
“I think the biggest thing that we can give him is an opportunity to play a first-team football.
“Some of these young players go to clubs like (Bayern) and obviously go on different journeys. That means they don’t play for the first team for a prolonged period.
“The biggest thing we can give him is working every single day on the things that he needs to improve the most and he gets a chance to play alongside Calum Chambers, Will Fish, Gabriel Osho, all those guys is brilliant for him at this time in his career, when it’s so important to play.”
