Schoolgirl claims horse riding teacher filmed sexual abuse
Western Mail
|July 25, 2025
A GIRL has accused a horse-riding instructor of filming himself sexually abuse her.
Guy Simmonds is alleged to have engaged in sexual activity with the underage girl on multiple occasions.
Simmonds, 37, who ran a riding school in the Monmouthshire village of Undy, denies six counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
His co-defendant, a showjumper named Lauren Jarvis, denies one count of the same offence. The pair are on trial at Cardiff Crown Court.
Prosecutor James Hartson told the jury Simmonds would regularly take the girl into a horsebox and penetrate her, knowing she was under 16. The court heard the abuse culminated in a “so-called threesome” involving Simmonds, Jarvis and the schoolgirl.
Yesterday's evidence started with footage of the girl’s interview with police, in which she said she consented to have sex with Simmonds the first time, but that “the other times he would just sort of expect me to follow him and it would go from there”.
She added: “I wasn’t smiling and stuff when this was going on. If you looked at my face, you could tell there was fear.
