Relegation battle? Fuchs confident that Exiles will avoid drop

CHRISTIAN Fuchs has laughed off suggestions that Newport County are in a relegation battle, insisting he has no doubt that they will survive.
-
County have been in the League Two relegation zone since October 4 and only climbed off the bottom of the table thanks to Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Chesterfield.
But they know that another home win against Accrington Stanley tonight (7.30pm) could lift them as high as 20th in the table, if other results go their way.
And Fuchs (circled, right), whose side travel to 22nd-placed Bristol Rovers this Saturday, is adamant that they will soon be well clear of the drop zone.
When it was put to him that these two fixtures were crucial in the relegation battle, the Austrian said: “What relegation battle? There are 18 games left. Who's talking about a relegation battle?
“We are pushing forward. Look at our last eight games - the team has improved massively.
