NIGEL Farage has told Welsh supporters he was “very shocked” to learn his former ally had taken Russian bribes in return for money.

Mr Farage was making his first appearance in Wales since Reform’s former Welsh leader Nathan Gill was jailed for 10 and a half years when he spoke at a rally in Llandudno yesterday.

The Reform UK leader said he was “as confident as I can be” that nobody else in his party had links to Russia but ruled out an investigation.

Gill’s bribes to make pro-Russian statements have raised serious questions for the party, amid calls for an internal investigation.

Despite protesters chanting “You're not welcome here” outside the venue, Mr Farage said he had “every reason to believe” his party could do “phenomenally well next May here in Wales”.
