Ramsey reigns as he bags late winner
Western Mail
|September 02, 2025
WALES international Aaron Ramsey bagged a 92nd minute winner for new club Pumas over the weekend.
The 34-year-old midfielder turned in a cross with just moments to play in euphoric scenes at Estadio Olimpico Universitario in Mexico City.
Ramsey spent two years at Cardiff City before moving on to a new challenge after his hometown club were relegated from the Championship. The Welshman bagged his goal in awful conditions, holding his jersey up to the crowd in a celebration similar to one made iconic by Lionel Messi.
The midfielder, who was brought on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, threw his top into the air and was mobbed by his teammates.
