Poll boost for Plaid is open to scrutiny

IT WAS easy to spot the Plaid Cymru members and staffers in the Senedd yesterday - they were the ones with big smiles on their faces.

The latest Welsh political poll had, just a few hours earlier, given them a boost they wouldn't otherwise have dreamed of a year away from an election which is so important for the party.

The YouGov poll put them top of the voting intention chart and in a (projected) position of just shy of double Labour's seats.

The poll, the first under the MRP model, is untested in Wales, but it has been found to be accurate in other elections, something which will add yet more woe to Labour types who have been staring at the 18% vote share figure in disbelief.
