PLANS for a technology business park that promises to create 1,200 permanent jobs have been approved.

- OWEN HUGHES

Stena Line has secured outline planning permission from Anglesey council for its 220-acre Prosperity Parc at the former Anglesey Aluminium site in Holyhead.

‘The scheme will include more than 220,000 square metres of data centre, industrial and office development as part of a new low-carbon campus. It will also include a battery energy storage system benefiting from the site's existing grid connection.

Prosperity Parc is the first major site to come forward as part of Anglesey Freeport. Following approval of the freeport’s full business case, the technology park's planning application marks a major step forward in delivering on its key growth commitments. At its peak, the proposals are forecast to generate up to £578m of growth in the local economy each year and create around 1,200 jobs.
