Man jailed after harming animals and filming abuse

A MAN has been jailed and ordered to pay costs and victim surcharge after an investigation revealed “sadistic” and “disgusting” videos of him harming animals.

Lloyd Gary Robert Davies, 23, from Bryn Heol, Bedwas, has also been banned from keeping any animals for the rest of his life.
His crimes against animals were brought to light after an investigation by the RSPCA, Gwent Police and Natural Resources Wales.
‘The extent of Davies’ crimes was laid bare when the RSPCA's special operations unit examined a phone seized from him and found multiple videos of the abuse.
Newport Magistrates’ Court heard that Davies killed or injured badgers, which are a protected species, by setting lurchers on them in fights which were shared on mobile phones.
