> 48 Norfolk Street, left, and 2 Francis Street in Swansea were run as brothels, a court has heard
TWO terraced houses in Swansea were being used as brothels where women were providing sexual services for money, a court has heard.
Police found a number of Romanian women at the addresses and seized phones which revealed extensive text exchanges between the sex workers and clients including price lists and postcodes for the properties.
Crisit-Denis Miclescu had previously denied keeping brothels but failed to turn up at his trial at Swansea Crown Court this week and was convicted in absence. The 24-year-old defendant was handed a prison sentence but his present whereabouts are unknown.
The court heard that in 2022 and 2023 Miclescu was renting two properties in Swansea namely 48 Norfolk Street in Mount Pleasant, and 2 Francis Street near Victoria Park and the Guildhall. The court heard police attended the Norfolk Street property on October 28, 2022, and found three Romanian females sitting in the living room. A number of phones were seized.
