Rob Brydon talks experimental fashion and European travel as he fronts new reality adventure competition Destination X.

HERE’S no denying the British public’s appetite for reality competition shows, as proven by the success of The Traitors and Race Across The World.

Now, a new contender is set to hit our screens, aiming to satisfy viewers' hunger for both adventure and gameplay.

Destination X, based on an award-winning Belgian format, challenges contestants to figure out a secret location they've been taken to, relying solely on a series of cryptic clues.

These clues are revealed through a variety of challenges, although a few clever misdirects are thrown in to keep both the contestants and the viewers guessing.

At the end of each episode, players must pinpoint where they believe they are. The contestant furthest from the actual location will be eliminated.

The first player to reach the final destination, aka Destination X, will be crowned the winner.

Contestants are sent on a mystery tour across Europe, travelling by coach with blacked-out windows designed to disorient them. They sleep on the bus throughout the competition, all vying for a £100,000 prize.

Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon, who hosts the new series, says he looked to The Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman for inspiration.

"I love her lightness of touch there and the way she’s a conduit to the show," says the 60-year-old Welsh actor, "She gets the balance right."

"I didn’t want to get in the way of the show. I was very aware of that - I wanted to just be the bridge between the viewer and the contestants, because they are the stars.
