Fuchs says County are raring to go after their winter break

County manager Christian Fuchs says his players are raring to go as they prepare to return to action for the first time since New Year's Day.

County head to Gillingham today aiming to climb off the bottom of the League Two table, and Fuchs feels his squad has benefited from the mid-season break, after one match was postponed due to a frozen pitch and a second due to their opponents' FA Cup commitments.

"The break came at the right time," said the Austrian.

"We had a couple of injuries. There was sickness too, so certain players would not have been available to us.

"In my eyes the break was well-timed.

"We had a spa treatment day. It was good for team bonding. Then we broke up for a while.

"It sometimes helps to go away from focusing on the next game and training.
