Dream start continues for Beddau thanks to Gnoll win
Western Mail
|October 13, 2025
BEDDAU'S dream start to life in the Admiral Premiership continued after they toppled Neath 10-7 to record a famous win at The Gnoll.
-
Having opened their campaign with victory at Llangennech, followed by a hat-trick of home triumphs against Newbridge, Bargoed and Cross Keys respectively, this latest win was the newly-promoted side's most eye-catching yet.
Just as they had against Keys the week before, it was a penalty with the last play that snatched victory for the Green and Golds.
Against Keys Callaghan Smith was the hero, and against Neath the match-winner with the last kick was replacement Ollie Wilde.
Centre Tyler Wells had earlier scored for Beddau in the first half, converted by Callum Wheeler, before Neath hit back with a try in the second period through hooker Sion Jones, converted by Paul Short.
Last season's Championship East winners Beddau are undefeated in a league match since losing at Bedwas four days before Christmas last year.
The result saw Neath slip from third to fourth.
