Chaos as A55 tunnel is closed

DRIVERS in north Wales faced massive disruption yesterday due to an emergency closure of the A55 Conwy Tunnel in both directions.

Traffic Wales confirmed that the tunnel, which, shut suddenly shortly after 8.30am due to a fault, was closed due to an issue within the tunnel’s safety systems.
The closure meant motorists travelling on the A55 faced severe delays.
