Bridge closes after damage blamed on a lorry

A HEAVILY-USED and historic road bridge has been closed to traffic due to damage believed to have been caused by a lorry.

An unconfirmed report suggests a vehicle struck the Lady Erskine Bridge, which carries the road over the railway near Cadnant Park in Conwy.
Part of the parapet has been shuttered with plywood and barriers, metal fences and bollards placed at both ends of the bridge.
It is not known how long the closure will last.
