Huw Bevan will leave the Welsh Rugby Union later this year to join Leicester Tigers as the Gallagher Prem club's new head of rugby operations.

- BEN JAMES

Bevan, who joined the WRU in 2023 as interim rugby performance director, will leave the governing body in December to take up a role with the Welford Road club.

During his time at the WRU, Bevan held a number of roles.

"I'm delighted to be joining Leicester Tigers - it is a brilliant opportunity for anyone working in elite sport," said Bevan.

"There wouldn't be many other jobs that would make me want to leave Wales, but this is one of the great clubs with a rich rugby history. I'm looking forward to supporting their evolution."

Prior to joining the WRU, Bevan had worked for USA Rugby, Ospreys, Dragons and the England and Wales Cricket Board.

"Everyone at the Welsh Rugby Union wishes Huw Bevan all the very best in his new role at Leicester Tigers," said WRU director of rugby and elite performance Dave Reddin.
