A PRE-school where “children arrive happy and eager to engage with the staff” has been rated ‘Good’ across the board in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Acorns Preschool, which operates from the United Reformed Church Hall in Bower Hinton near Yeovil, received its report following an inspection on Wednesday, January 22. The setting, which caters to children aged two to four with space for 24 and seven currently on roll, was praised for creating a warm and engaging environment where children thrive emotionally and developmentally.

“The strong bonds with staff ensure that children are emotionally secure, which underpins their learning and development,” inspectors wrote.

The curriculum at Acorns is described as “ambitious” and “successfully focused on embedding children’s prime areas of development, preparing them well for school.”

Staff were also praised for their clear understanding of learning goals and effective teaching strategies.
