Iranians to unite in support of protest

Western Daily Press

January 17, 2026

BRISTOL’S Iranian community is gathering in the centre of the city tomorrow to express their support for the ongoing protests and attempt at a revolution against the government in Tehran.

And Iranians living in the city are calling on people in Bristol to show their support and to stand with them, during these turbulent times back in their homeland.

‘The gathering is happening tomorrow at 12.30pm on College Green.

One Bristolian Iranian, Nooshin Zamaniyan, said people in the city were very worried about friends and relatives back in Iran.

“Even the local landlines are not working and, considering over 12,000 people have been killed and thousands detained already by the Islamic Republic, we are all worried for our loved ones back in Iran,” she said.
