Frustration for Forest Green and the Glovers

FOREST Green Rovers drew 1-1 with Boreham Wood at Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon, after Kyle McAllister’s penalty cancelled out Lewis Richardson's opener.
-
The home side struck first at the start of the second half after a short corner routine was played into the box, Harry Isted missed it with a flailing arm, and Richardson headed in from close range at the back post.
The visitors hit back midway through the second period after being awarded a spot kick from Tom Knowles’ cross as it was blocked by an arm from Boreham Wood defender, Chris Bush, and the penalty was converted by McAllister, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Forest Green's most recent signing, Josh Osude, saw red with five minutes remaining for violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident after only coming off the bench 15 minutes prior.
Rovers boss Robbie Savage found himself in the referee’s book after his reaction to a poor challenge on McAllister early in the first half, which Neil Hair ignored.
The draw marked the first away point that Forest Green have taken against a team inside the top seven in the National League.
Boreham Wood: Curd; Coxe, O’Connell, Bush, Ilesanmi; Booty, Marshall; Richardson (Ayinde 67), Abdulmalik, Brunt; Rush. Subs not used: Newton, Robinson, Payne, Henry, Clayden, Norris.
