Foresters edged out on first visit to Chester

CINDERFORD lost out at Chester 46-37 in a 13-try thriller on their first-ever visit to the home team’s Hare Lane ground.

Chester’s Sam Earl-Jones missed an early penalty attempt before Cinderford hooker Nathan Taylor scored two tries from driving mauls in the space of five minutes, both of which were unconverted.

The home team responded with a try from Louis Beer, before Taylor completed his ‘hat-trick’ after 27 minutes of play.

Back came the hosts with a try from No8 Jared Williams, which Earl-Jones converted, but soon afterwards he was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle.
