Forest Green sign free-scoring Rees from Merthyr

NATIONAL LEAGUE
FOREST Green Rovers have signed striker Ricardo Rees from Merthyr Town on a permanent deal ahead of today’s National League home clash with Halifax, writes Rhys Anderson.
Rees has scored 25 goals in 24 National League North games this season, plus three assists, including a goal and an assist against Hereford on Tuesday. The 26-year-old has reportedly turned down Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Gillingham and Crawley to join the Nailsworth outfit.
Welshman Rees rose through the ranks in the Cardiff City academy before moving to Bristol City, where he never made a senior appearance, but was a regular for their Under-23s.
