Businessman gets nod for a second plane

A MAN who built the "world's coolest Airbnb" from Pablo Escobar's plane is set to open his second Boeing scheme in 2026 - despite fears over "noisy parties".

- TOM BEVAN wdp@reachplc.com

Johnny Palmer, 41, created the unique accommodation in the abandoned Boeing 727 plane once owned by the drugs lord to make guests "feel like billionaires".

He has since been granted planning permission to carry out a second Boeing project, Ground Force - this time in a bid to create the "world's coolest office".

Mr Palmer said the plan was for the plane to be transported in January for the work to start on site ahead of an opening of the new space in March 2026.

Bristol City Council gave the goahead after the scheme received 77 letters of support and 15 objections.

Mr Palmer previously said those objecting to the scheme - including concerns over 'noisy parties' on the old Escobar airliner - just amounted to personal criticism - and claims he is in the process of creating something special.
