Race to offer infrastructure for EVs grows

On May 26, V-Green and VNPT signed an MoU on cooperation to develop about 6,000 battery swapping cabinets, and 100 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across 2,500 transaction points of VNPT nationwide.

Nguyen Anh Quynh, CEO of V-Green, said, “The tie-up with VNPT marks an important milestone in V-Green’s journey to develop modern green transport infrastructure. With VNPT’s support, our charging and battery swapping station network will quickly increase the coverage and bring a seamless experience to clients.”

V-Green is expanding its EV charging network through partnerships announced last month. The company and Vietnam Post agreed to build over 16,000 battery swapping cabinets and around 2,000 parking spaces integrated with EV charging stations across more than 13,000 Vietnam Post service points nationwide. Likewise, the company also teamed up with PVOil to deploy more than 3,000 electric motorbike battery swapping cabinets at PVOIL’s gas station chain nationwide.

On May 19, LG Energy Solution, Honda, and Hanoi city inked an MoU on cooperation in establishing public battery swap stations for electric motorcycles. The move will expand their footprint in Vietnam’s electric motorcycle market.
