French enterprises are getting involved in high value-added industries
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet talked with VIR's Thanh Dat about the prospects for the development of France-Vietnam relations. What positive impacts will Vietnam's new leadership have on the development of relations between Vietnam and France?
French President Emmanuel Macron, together with Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, conveyed their warmest congratulations to their Vietnamese counterparts, wishing them every success in the exercise of their high responsibilities. They reaffirmed that France stands fully alongside Vietnam, within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, to support the country in its national development.
France notably welcomes the orientations defined at the 14th National Party Congress, which set out an ambitious trajectory for the country's development over the coming decades. France stands ready to support Vietnam in this new era of development, in pursuit of its objectives of economic transformation, energy transition, and technological modernisation.
In an international environment marked by growing uncertainty, peace and stability appear more essential than ever for the success of this ambitious programme. In this regard, France and Vietnam share a common vision grounded in respect for international law, multilateralism, and the pursuit of collective solutions to global challenges.
Relations between France and Vietnam are rooted in a longstanding history founded on trust and mutual respect. As early as 1977, the visit by Prime Minister Pham Van Dong to France and the signing of the first cooperation agreements laid the foundations for a lasting partnership, which has steadily strengthened over the decades.
