Canadian companies and investors are well-positioned to tap into Vietnam's growing market while contributing expertise to support the country's next phase of economic development.

Canadian businesses have much to offer in Vietnam

Zach Herbers, president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, shared with VIR's Thanh Van the ample opportunities ahead. How is Vietnam emerging as an attractive and resilient market for Canadian businesses and investors?

Vietnam holds significant potential for Canadian companies. Strong economic growth, stable political leadership, and successive administrative reforms are helping create a more attractive trade and investment environment.

This is especially relevant as Vietnam is already Canada's largest trading partner in ASEAN, and remains a priority market as part of Canada's Indo-Pacific Strategy.

In particular, Vietnam's participation in free trade agreements, like the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership, gives Canadian companies and investors a competitive advantage through reduced tariffs and barriers to trade alongside increased market access. We are seeing this firsthand at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham). Our chamber is receiving new enquiries from Canadian companies and investors keen to bring their products and services to Vietnam and to tap into the potential of the market.
