COST OF SAFETY MEASURES HAD THREATENED EVENT

THE organisers of Notting Hill Carnival have said they are delighted this year’s event can go ahead after extra funding for security measures was secured.
Following a Notting Hill Carnival Ltd commissioned independent review, which was supported by Carnival’s partners, additional funds of £958,000 have been provided by City Hall, Royal Borough Of Kensington & Chelsea and City of Westminster to put the recommended infrastructure in place.
Chair of Notting Hill Carnival Ltd, Ian Comfort, said: “We are delighted that our partners at City Hall, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, and the City of Westminster have come together to provide the funding necessary to ensure Notting Hill Carnival 2025 can go ahead.
