TIVERTON High School remains in special measures after a recent monitoring visit by Ofsted.

- by LEWIS CLARKE

Inspectors found that although it is making progress it still has work to do. The secondary school was branded "inadequate" across critical areas of education, behaviour and leadership in December last year.

The lastest visit took place on September 23 and 24 to assess its progress in addressing the serious weaknesses - and the verdict was cautious.

The report by inspector Sara Berry stated: "Leaders have made progress to improve the school, but more work is necessary for the school to no longer be judged as requiring special measures."

Headteacher Nicola Lewis said they were pleased that the inspectors recognised the significant amount of work that has taken place, but also recognised that there is still work to do.
