England supporters on form as Lionesses lose first game
FANS were full of love for the Lionesses as they kicked off their Euro 2025 campaign last night, despite England losing their first match.
Supporters had been arriving in Zurich since Friday, ready to cheer on the reigning champions in their clash with France.
It finished 2-1 to France but fans were defiant earlier, declaring: “The dream won't be over.”
Zurich's cafes and pubs were full of England fans soaking up the pre-match atmosphere ahead of the 8pm kickoff.
And all were in buoyant mood filled with belief that the Lionesses, led by boss Sarina Wiegman and captain Leah Williamson, can retain the trophy they won so remarkably in 2022 at Wembley - a landmark victory that sparked a massive surge in interest in women's football.
