Please let's not have a Tuch of the Capellos

IF the Football Association is actually giving serious thought to extending Thomas Tuchel's England contract, there's a simple two-word response.
-
Fabio Capello.
Ahead of World Cup 2010, Capello's people and the FA thought it would be a good idea to remove a break clause that kicked in after the tournament.
The Italian's contract was duly amended and Sir Dave Richards, then chairman of 'Club England', said: "We are very pleased to have Fabio's commitment for another two years.
"Now, we can all concentrate on the World Cup and give Fabio and the players our full support."
That worked out well. Drawn in a group with the USA, Algeria and Slovenia, England scraped through to the knockout stages where they were immediately thumped by Germany.
It should have been the end of the Capello (right) era but the FA were stuck with him.
He took England safely through a qualifying campaign for the Euros but resigned in February 2012, mainly over John Terry being stripped of the captaincy.
