The actor is hoping to add a best actor Golden Globe to his awards haul tonight, having won two Critics Choice gongs last week and three Emmys last year.

Adolescence, the Netflix smash hit about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate, is up for best limited series at the ceremony, which begins in the early hours.

And costars Owen Cooper, 15, and Ashley Walters, 43, are both nominated in the same best supporting male actor category.

In contrast to bad behav-iour and egos often found on Hollywood sets, Stephen, 52, believes positive energy and support of a kind cast and crew helped deliver some of TV's most harrowing scenes.
