Ex-publican's bid to save locals

- CALLY BROOKS

I've visited more than 5.000 pubs

A FORMER pub landlord is on a mission to visit every pub in the country to try to save them.

So far Dale Harvey has been to more than 5,020 from Penzance to Edinburgh since starting his quest nearly three years ago.

imageHe has named it the Great British Pub Crawl and turned it into a fulltime job by filming videos for his thousands of fans on social media.

His Facebook page has 110,000 followers, TikTok recently hit 16,000, and YouTube is growing steadily with 14,000 subscribers.

"Every pub I go to, I write my notes for each and give them the shout-out they deserve," he says.

And he is supporting the Mirror's campaign to save our locals, which we launched last week.

Nearly 800 closed last year alone. Dale says: "I am behind the Mirror's campaign because I believe in any campaign that supports the pub industry.

"They are in desperate need of more funding and support, and we need to get behind them and show our locals as much support as possible."
