SC Rejects Bail Plea of Arun Gawli

The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, who is serving a life sentence for his involvement in the 2007 murder of Mumbai Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar.
Gawli, convicted in 2012 and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs17 lakh, argued that he had met all the conditions outlined in the 2006 remission policy.
